Expedience® Base Station

Designed for ease of installation in a number of different configurations, the flexible design of Motorola's Expedience Base Transceiver Station (BTS) will keep costs down as your system needs change by supporting a highly scalable system architecture for both rural and metropolitan areas. In conjunction with the Residential Subscriber Unit, Outdoor Subscriber Unit, Mobile Subscriber Unit, and PC Card CPEs, the BTS incorporates automatic adaptive modulation to maximize the capacity of the airlink over a wide variety of configurations and propagation conditions.

Expedience Dual-Mode Access Point

The WAP 400 features dual mode capabilities utilizing either the Expedience proprietary air link, or the IEEE 802.16e-2005 standards based air link. For existing networks or greenfield applications, Expedience mode operation provides the operator the confidence they have come to expect with the proven Expedience air link protocol. Its dual mode capabilities provide the operator the flexibility of growing their customer base today while planning for a future transition to WiMAX.

Motorola's Expedience PC Card is a high performance, broadband wireless access modem for indoor applications. It is a true NLOS Plug & Play Ethernet device, requiring only a simple driver to be added to the subscriber's laptop computer.

The PC Card incorporates the same automatic adaptive modulation for increased throughput and network capacity as our existing products with the added portability of a laptop CardBus card.

The PC Express Card features automatic adaptive modulation for increased throughput and network capacity, with the added portability of a laptop CardBus card. Designed to fit computers with Laptop ExpressCard 54 slots.

It is a true Plug & Play Ethernet device that is well suited for extended range coverage, and requires absolutely no drivers to be added to the subscriber's computer. The Compact OSU incorporates automatic adaptive modulation for increased throughput and network capacity.

Expedience® Mobile Subscriber Unit

Motorola's Expedience® Mobile Subscriber Unit delivers flexible, high-speed connectivity for nomadic vehicular wireless broadband access markets, such as public safety and transportation. It is a true Plug & Play Ethernet device, requiring no special drivers to be installed in an interfacing computer. Particularly important for Public Safety applications is the compatibility with standard IP software applications, eliminating the need to purchase special proprietary solutions to run on a mobile data platform. The MSU is also well suited for backhaul of a temporary emergency LAN that can be set up for first responders in emergency situations. Applications supported include data, VoIP, and streaming video.

Expedience® Residential Subscriber Unit

Motorola's Expedience® Residential Subscriber Unit is a high performance, broadband wireless access modem for indoor applications. It is a true Non Line-of-Sight (NLOS) Plug & Play Ethernet device, requiring no drivers to be added to the subscriber's computer. The RSU incorporates automatic adaptive modulation for increased throughput and network capacity. Users are connected in seconds, enjoying broadband speeds at indoor locations throughout the entire system's coverage area. The unit functions as an Ethernet bridge (Layer 2) device, and is ideal for single host or SOHO LAN applications interfacing a standard Ethernet 10base-T RJ-45 connector.

Motorola's Residential Dual-Mode Subscriber Unit provides optimal performance in both Expedience and WiMAX (802.16e) networks. This unique CPE supports Expedience and WiMAX networks and greatly simplifies the transition of Expedience systems to WiMAX.

Expedience® Network Management

NetProvision™, Provisioning Management System and NetManage™ Element Management System provide carriers with the comprehensive ability to define, manage and provision all aspects of the Expedience broadband wireless network.

A unique feature of the Expedience system is the ability to define and provide service to multiple ISP partners that operate on the carrier's broadband infrastructure network. The Expedience system allows carriers to provide the ability for ISP partners to define their own SLA's and to provision their own customers on the system. With Expedience, the carrier maintains the network, manages its capacity and performance, and administers the access to the network for each ISP.
